the good things replace the not so good March 19, 2009

well the people a TIVO are brilliant I filled the repair-exchange form out on their website, 2 business days later they called to say a new tiov was on the way and should arrive the next 2 days, it arrived the next day today an envelope arrived for me to pack the old tivo into and send back soon I love their system.

the mechanic rang they have decided not to take my car I told him I’d given up on the idea of selling it so if he didn’t want it I’d call some one to take it away free…. he said he could arrange that and return the plates to the RTA for me as well I just need to send him the rego papers

Mrs E from across the road has agreed to look after miss at least for now

Our big plan is to get rid of a much debt as possible and then have the boy stay home and look after the house while i work heres hoping all that falls in place very quickly

another thing has gone wrong…. the nanny quit today she has recieved a once in a life tim oppourtunity to go and work in a funeral home…. I wish her good luck it is no where near the disaster of the car and the tivo which is less of a disaster than the car because it will either be repaired or replaced free of charge
we can find a new nanny, actually the lady accross the road has been wanting to look after miss for a long time so we will prolly ask her she will appreciate the $$ and be able to stop doing night fill at coles for a bit (I think she is also a bit clucky but her daughters are to young to settle down just yet)

jen I don’t think it’s so much the gremlins as the roaches, one of these days we’ll get a skip and seriously declutter the place then give it a good spray and hopefully keep the clutter away as well
I want oprahs friend to come and visit I need some one to tell me to throw that thing out, or out of this box you can keep 3 things and file this here ….. perhaps I just need some one to hold my hand …… there is a reason i sometimes feel I’m treated as a child , because sometimes I act like it

First it was the car, now the tivo. what is going to go next I’m sure i broke a mirror the other day…. don’t think I could cop this for another 7 years

My car ! My car ! oh no my car March 11, 2009

is almost gone I went to work on monday to find it was RDO day …grrrr… on the way back i stopped off at spotlight then to the local woolies (safeway for some) to get a chook etc for dinner, the oil light came on while i was parking …. panic stations lucky I was at the shop grabbed some oil along with chook milk and toilet paper (we’ll forget that i also grabbed a 600g chocolate custard) oil was a touch low so i added some, a little too much but I figure too much is better than not enough and away I went oil light gone problem solved ….. hahahaha I think I broke a mirror recently blue smoke poured out of the back of my car i now know it is impossible for people to not know their car is blowing smoke , the oil light was bakc on too

I was close to home and even though I knew it was wrong decided I’m not pushing it when I’m so close and drove home, called the mechanic the next day and was advised that i call the NRMA who sent someone to look and then orgnised a tow to my mechanic

the mechanic rang today to tell me the engine has no oil pressure whatsoever and a new/recon would be around $3100 a second hand non recon would be $2700…….. I’m hoping I’ll get $500 for the car I wonder if sims will pay for it

ahhh the joys of afternoons shift March 9, 2009

I get up drag myself out of bed turn the kettlw on while the boy gets miss her breakfast lounge on the lounge a bit do a few dishes get the mail play with miss for a bit put her to bed and surf the web I could so get used to this

The boy has decided he is old, he is going to call in sick today because he is tired from the weekend away and he reckons he is not going away again overnight on the weekend because he ends up too tired …. what a shame

I have my biannual asbestos test this week its a big pain this time, normally the bring the lung bus onsite and you are given a time to go and visit it now I have to go to some building somewhere for it you wouldn’t think someone of my generation would have to worry about such things but there is so much of the stuff around you never know, I spent some time working with a contractor adding power points to department of housing kitchens smashing holes in the fibro walls to get the cable through without a thought , untill the boss went and did an asbestos course

oh well I’m off to do not much fo another few hours

where does all the time go March 8, 2009

I’m guessing on work and family but I seem to be missing some somewhere

work has been tiring and miss with her now runnung around (almost ) is exhausting between the two I don’t get much time to me

the boy has gone away 2 of the last 3 weekends I don’t mind him going away and having his own time but I’d appreciate a little more time between weekends away so today I left him asleep with miss asleep and took myself to craftfest in homebush and spent a few $$ from the bantam that i prolly shouldn’t have but the next installment(apparently netbank dosen’t allow more than $2000 at a time not nesecerrily a bad thing but a pain anyway) will be paying off my CC so I should be able to use some of the cash on myself the funniest thing though in the next pavillion over (for those who arent sydney siders and who have never been to olympic park it is absoulutley huge) had the tattoo show so the little trains (tractors made to look like trains with trailers that look like carriges) that took people to and from the parking area were filled with frilly artsy ladies  and dotted with the odd character dressed in black with peircings and tattoos everywhere, it was quite a site

and so I enter the mysterious world of embroidery along with sewing  and quilting which I blog about here btw

the whole flylady idea has gone out the window for the moment too even though the amazing thing happened again … I started shining the sink and after a week or so …. the boy scrubbed the bathroom shiny Yaaay I couldn’t believe it

i also made up some of her instant mocha the week before last

1 cup instant coffee

2 cups drinking chocolate

3 cups instant milk

it turned out quite nice but i think I need to add more milk to the mix perhaps australian instant milk is different to the ones in the US or just her idea of creamy is different to mind no matter I currently have 4 cups of instant milk in there might make it 5 yet still not sure but then I like my coffee milky if i can get it

My darling little brother turned 21 on friday (6th of march) we all know that makes me old don’t we? anyway he now works at the local tip on the big trucks so I may be found referring to him as tipboy everynow and then
